Introduction
Purpose of the SEARCH HISTORY page is to let users re-adjust
their search strategies based on the outcome they have had
in search history. By using Boolean operators and search
job (set) numbers, users can refine the search output until
they obtain satisfactory results.
How to use the SEARCH HISTORY page
1. Select related set (job) numbers in the search job
list at lower part of the page, and add into the query box.
2. Specify the relationships of the selected set number(s)
of search jobs in history, by using Boolean operators (OR/AND/NOT)
.
3. If a complicated relationship is found, parentheses can
be used to further describe the relationship of various
set (job) numbers.
4. Submit the search request by clicking the submit button.
System will return the result of new search. When you enter
HISTORY page again, number of this new search job (set)
will appear at the set (job) list, together with its search
expression and number of hit documents.
5. If mistakes are found in search expression query box,
you can click the button"Reset " to erase or remove the
contents from query box.
Note:
1. This function will be initiated only after users have
submitted and executed search request.
2. In the absence of parentheses, all operations will be
executed in sequence from left to right.
